Job Title: Logistics Specialist
The PHSS Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the physical resources (supplies and program materials) to conduct training and services for all PHSS programs within the assigned area are available and in place for quality PHSS programming. This work includes ensuring that all equipment and supplies are maintained and in premier quality condition; materials to support classes are available when and where needed; course materials for instructors, trainers, teaching sites are available when and where needed and fully functional classroom space is secured and available for the needed training. In some areas, this position supervises part-time logistics personnel including instructors who are providing logistical support.
This position coordinates their activities closely with the Training Specialist, Aquatics Specialists, Nurse Assistant Training and Testing Manager and other PHSS programming staff. Managing community partnerships and building Red Cross visibility at training sites is a key role for program delivery and achieving overall revenue and service delivery goals.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:Supply Chain/Logistics: Manages all supply chain functions for inventory management, warehousing and delivery in an assigned area.
Quality Assurance: Ensure equipment is clean, in proper repair, regularly maintained and in good working order. Equipment that requires special safety practices for safe operation will be identified and managed to ensure safe operation as well as meet audit compliance for unique programs.
Resource Management: Recommends investments in technology, capital, equipment systems or other assets that will improve the quality of the delivery of PHSS services in the territory. Responsible for efficient and effective resource use, including budget and personnel. Tracks and maintains records for inventory and quick identification. Manages and implements inventory control process flow throughout the service delivery channels.
Community Partnerships: Builds partnerships with local organizations to increase our ability to meet public demand for course offerings and achieve goals.Communications: Engages in regular communications with instructing personnel and PHSS colleagues necessary for the provision of "just in time" training.
Personnel Management: Provide supervision to assigned part-time logistics personnel and support for volunteer instructors building relationships and establishing process compliance for teaching and supplies.
Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.A minimum of 3 years of experience in an American Red Cross PHSS position preferred (volunteer or paid).
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to simultaneously manage several projects and motivate teams under tight deadlines. Ability to participate in group meetings.Work in education or service industry is a plus, but not required.Instructor and Trainer authorizations is a plus, but not required.Ability to be "on call", own vehicle with current license for territory.Basic computer skills and demonstrated ability to utilize MS Office programs.Ability to travel 10-30%.
