Human Resources Intern

Position Title:             Human Resources Intern

Responsible to:           Executive Director

Status:                         Volunteer

 

Position Summary:

This position provides a college student interested in Human Resources the opportunity to gain valuable work experience. The student selected for this program will perform various recruitment duties while having the opportunity to observe first-hand the operation and organization of American Red Cross Hr  Rules and regulations.

 

Major Responsibilities:

1.      Administrative support primarily to HR personnel in staffing and training functions.

2.      Maintain resume tracking database

3.      Update job postings

4.      Conduct resume searches

5.      Schedule and track employment candidates and training participants

6.      Prepare and coordinate materials for various projects

7.      Create/prepare reports and maintaining required documentation

 

Education/Experience:

One or two years of college level courseware.  Exposure to HR discipline helpful.    

 

Skills/Abilities

1.      Good planning and organizational skills and must be detailed-oriented

2.      Must have excellent character, professional appearance, and ability to work effectively with others.

3.      Must have experience with personal computer spreadsheet and word processing programs

 

Terms of Employment

1.      Volunteer, Un-paid position

2.      Part-time position. Flexible with school schedule.
