Volunteers Log In Here
If you like to help people you have come to the right place. Your local Red Cross Chapter could have just the opportunity – from training to be ready to respond to disasters, supporting a blood drive, delivering messages to our US service personnel, or connecting families displaced by disasters or conflict.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteers are the heart of the American Red Cross and we'd like you to join us. We depend on over 1.4 million volunteers nationwide and hundreds in Southeast Missouri to carry out our mission as the world's leading humanitarian relief agency. Throughout all our programs, the Red Cross and our volunteers touch the Southeast Missouri community many times each year.
As a Red Cross volunteer, you can serve meals to disaster victims or help out at a blood drive. You can teach CPR or help soldiers arrange trips home for the birth of their children. Most of all, Red Cross volunteers help save lives... and what could be more fulfilling than that?
Getting Started
If you are interested in becoming a Red Cross volunteer, the first step is to complete a Volunteer Application. You can fill this out online by clicking here, or you can complete a paper application here. Then mail, e-mail, or take the application to our office.
After your application is reviewed, our Volunteer Services staff will schedule an interview with you to discuss your interests and availability. We will also require you to attend a four-hour orientation about the American Red Cross, consent to a background check, and participate in training in the service in which you'll be working.
Once your area of service has been determined, we will continue to work with you to identify additional training and growth opportunities.
Red Cross volunteers are among the most important people in our community. Join our team and help us help others!

We Depend on Volunteers!
Volunteers constitute 96 percent of our total work force to carry on our humanitarian work:
- Every year the Red Cross responds to more than 70,000 disasters—including approximately 150 home fires every day.
- About 11 million Americans turn to us to learn first aid, CPR, swimming, and other health and safety skills.
- Half the nation's blood supply—six million pints annually—is collected by more than 155,000 Red Cross volunteers .
- Among our emergency services for the men and women of the armed forces is the delivery of urgent family messages—around the clock and around the globe.
- More than 30,900 volunteers serve as chairs, members of boards of directors, or on advisory boards for local Red Cross units—Chapters, Blood Services regions, and military stations.
- As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, Red Cross reconnects more than 8,000 families separated by conflicts and disasters around the world through international tracking services and Red Cross messages.
