The American Red Cross provides assistance to people in need … free of charge … every single day! Your contribution means a great deal to the organization … but even more to the families who rely on the Red Cross to help them through some of the most difficult times of their lives.

The American Red Cross is not a government agency, we must rely on the generosity of the American public. With your ongoing support, we will continue to be there providing people in crisis … relief for today and hope for tomorrow.

American Red Cross is a Four Star Charity

The American Red Cross has been designated a four star charity (the highest rating) by Charity Navigator (www.charitynavigator.org).

This rating means that the American Red Cross gets the most from every dollar you give. Keeping administrative costs as low as possible means the Red Cross can deliver more help to people in need...respond to emergencies and disasters whenever and wherever they occur...and offer the entire community the life-saving training and disaster preparedness skills and information that help everyone live healthier, safer lives.

How to Give

Financial gifts may be sent to:

American Red Cross
Southeast Missouri Chapter
2430 Myra Drive
Cape Girardeau, MO 63703

Or call us at (573) 335-9471

If you are committed to ensuring Red Cross is here for generations to come, you may wish to consider a "planned gift." Consider the following:

  • Bequest
Many of our supporters make charitable gifts by naming the Red Cross as a beneficiary in their wills.

  • Life Income Gift
You irrevocably transfer some assets to the Red Cross now, and in return, you (and a survivor, if you wish) receive income for life.

  • Gift of Life Insurance
Some of our supporters no longer need their life insurance, that was purchased years ago to provide for children or other family members, and donate the policy to the American Red Cross.

  • Pooled Income Fund
Your gift of money, marketable securities, or both is invested together with similar gifts from other supporters.

  • Charitable Lead Trust
Individuals with very large estates can use a charitable lead trust to benefit the American Red Cross and pass principal to family members with little or no tax penalty.

  • Gift of Retirement Plans
Your IRA assets will be transferred to a charitable remainder trust, the trust will provide life income to the beneficiary, and then an eventual gift to the Red Cross.

Individuals who offer planned gifts become members of our Legacy Society and receive special honors.
